Review # 91: Playmobil Nativity Set
While this set is lovely to look at, it is not appropriate for too much handling. I wanted my grandkids to have a set that they could touch and act out the Christmas story and I was torn between a Fisher Price Nativity set and this one by Playmobil. In the end I chose the Playmobil because it seemed a little less "baby" and had more detail.
The review goes like this:
This Playmobil nativity set was a huge hit with the grandkids last year. It is true that there are a lot of small pieces, the gifts and shepherds hooks fit into the hands, robes and hats come off, and the camel has a lot of decorative pieces, but that is part of its fun. The stable and background are just paper, but they work well and fold up easily for storage. The plastic pieces which include the Holy family, a shepherd, an angel, the wise men, a camel, sheep, an ox and a donkey, are sturdy, colorful, moveable, detailed and lots of fun for little ones old enough to be trusted not to swallow small pieces.
At around $ 30, this set is a great way to interactively introduce the Christmas story to your little ones.

I hate the cardboard back round and leave it in the box each year. I have the Fisher Price one too and I don't have a break down when they play with it instead of my nice Playmobil set.
