Review # 86: La-Z-Boy Rex Reclining Chair

A sofa and a love-seat only seat 5, we need way more than that, so I chose this reclining chair to go along with the set.

The review goes like this:

In the beginning, this was my favorite piece of the set. It is so comfortable to sit in, I even fell asleep in it one day, which is very not like me at all. The foot rest extends far enough to be very comfortable, and you can recline to almost a horizontal position. The chair, of course,  does take more space to recline than the sofa.
Over time, however, some flaws came to light. The lever to make the chair recline, and to also allow you to pull the footrest back in, makes such a loud noise that you hate to use it in the evening. The chair, which rocks when not in the reclining position squeaks. Having kids rocking back and forth all the time is just annoying, too.
The Evil Lever
So, comfortable, yes, but I think I could find another comfortable chair without all the annoying features that this one has. I would not buy it again, and I would not recommend it to anyone who does not enjoy sudden loud, jolting noises.
