Reviews # 73, 74, 75 and 76: Website PoolSolutions.com/Poolforum.com, Liquid Bleach, C9 by Champion Drawstring Sweatpant, and Made For Life Drawstring Sweatpant

One day I found myself with about 13 thousand gallons of water in my backyard and no clue how to keep it clean and suitable for swimming. Somehow, I found this website: Poolsolutions.com .

Review # 73 goes like this:

PoolSolutions.com and the linked forum Poolforum.com was incredibly helpful to a pool newbie. I learned basic pool chemistry and when over the years equipment needed to be replaced, the forum was a great place to see what might be a good choice and what might not. The website has plenty of information, and the forum was and I hope still is, a place of helpfulness. Unlike some forums where arguing and ugliness is the norm, Poolforum.com seemed to keep a friendly and helpful tone even debating  Baquicil vs Chlorine or arguing the merits of keeping PH at higher levels. This has been one of the most helpful websites I have ever used, so I give it a 10.

PoolSolutions.com encourages people to make use of common household bleach for a cheaper and as effective pool sanitizer and so this leads me to Review # 74: Common Household Liquid Bleach.

The review goes like this:

Everyone has used it. Whether you use it to clean your toilet, for laundry, or use it as a pool sanitizer, you probably have a story about how you ruined a load of laundry, or your favorite outfit by splattering it or accidentally throwing a blue shirt in with that white load...
It is true that bleach is readily available and inexpensive. It is true that bleach whitens and sanitizes better than almost anything. BUT... it is also true that the inexpensiveness of bleach is somewhat offset by the many dollars worth of ruined clothing caused by splatters and accidental leaning against bleached surfaces (see review # 75.)
For the careful person who has one designated bleach outfit and remembers to wear it and always remembers to separate whites from whites with colored collars etc, bleach is unparalleled in its usefulness. However for me, careless and forgetful, I am afraid a 5 is all I can give it. Powdered chlorine for the pool and alternative cleaners for my house is way safer for my clothes.

Maybe you think I exaggerate.

Here is Review # 75: C9 by Champion Drawstring Sweatpants

Please take note of the large bleach stain on the butt.

The review goes like this:

I bought the "C9 by Champion" Drawstring pants at Target and was very pleased with how long the legs were - perfect for 5'7" me, even after many dryer cycles. I wish these pants had a pocket or two, but alas they do not. I do like that there is no elastic around the ankles - no elastic marks after a long walk. I like the idea of a drawstring waist, but what I do not like is the lack of any elastic in the waist. I do not like this because they always loosen, sometimes dangerously, like when I have a dog leash and a cell phone in one hand (remember, I wished for a pocket), and an umbrella in the other, and all of a sudden they slip dangerously. Hard to tighten en route, and they just don't stay tight enough.  Still, a comfortable pair of pants, and I was a 7.5 worth of happy with them until the unfortunate bleach incident.

End review # 75.

Bleach on the pants led me to buy a new pair of pants, the "Made for Life" (JC Penney) drawstring sweatpants.

The review (# 76!) goes like this:

These "Made For Life" pants started out long enough but have shrunk a little in the length. Wish they had a pocket, but they do not. On the plus side, they are very warm and cozy, and the have some elastic in the waist, along with the drawstring, so once tied they stay on. Very good feature, indeed. I look forward to wearing them for long dog walks this winter. I give these an 8, and promise to stay away from the bleach while wearing them!
