Review # 77: How to Crochet - Part 1 - Basics for the Absolute Beginner

Last year a friend of mine started crocheting and it got me interested. Here is the fantasy I had: me in the recliner wearing warm slippers, a fire going in the wood stove, my son playing piano in the background, and me crocheting away the days of winter. Of course, reality has been somewhat different - it is only Autumn, the beat of music makes it hard for me to count stitches, and the first thing I made (a scarf) was met with comments like "oh... did you run out of yarn?" or " I'm sure it will look good once you put a jacket over it." Oh well.
I held off buying yarn or starting anything through summer, but now having come to terms with summer being gone, I took the plunge. Immediately I realized that, having not crocheted in over 20 years, I did not remember a thing, so I started looking online. I found this video and the review goes like this:

Excellent video for a beginner or someone needing a refresher course. Clear instructions, video easy to follow, speed perfect, length not overwhelming. I looked at a few sites, but this was by far the best. There is a "Part 2" for once you have mastered the basics.  A definite 10 of an instructional video!
