Review # 69: Staples Model # 34462 Pencil Sharpener

With four children my house has and continues to contain pencils. Lots of pencils. Every year I buy them in bulk, plus the required colored pencils. Sure, we make use of mechanical pencils, but the classic # 2 still rules.
Over the years we have had many sharpeners. Classic hand cranked ones like we used to have in school. Desktop ones. Ones that attached to the wall. Small portable ones. Electric ones. But for some reason, our family is pencil sharpener jinxed as none last very long.

This is a review for the Staples brand model # 34462 pencil sharpener.

The review goes like this:

This electric sharpener has lasted longer than any other we have owned: a couple of years so far. It still sharpens OK. The entry for the pencil is a little awkward, and it is not adjustable so forget about sharpening odd sized pencils. The shavings are held in a little pull out tray which is very easy to empty and replace.
Overall, while not perfect, and adequate pencil sharpener for your run of the mill pencils. I give it a 7.5.
