Review # 53: Walmart Book Light

A Tale of Three Book Lights: Part 3

Dollar store book light dreams dashed, and $ 2 in the trash, it was back to tried and true flashlight reading. Then, one day while at Walmart, when  book lights were not even on my mind, I walked by a large display of these lights (pictured.)
I bought the black and grey one which so nicely coordinated with the Kindle.

The review goes like this:

Third time is supposed to be a charm, unfortunately, once out of the package, a shortcoming was discovered, a short in the light.
Maybe its not fair to judge this light on one lemon, but, that's all I've got to go on. A lemon. It turned on, then it shorted out. If I moved the neck around it was OK, until it wasn't. Disappointing - Oh yes.
So on the plus side, It felt sturdy, was a nice color, had a working switch, clipped securely on my Kindle cover, and worked a little. On the down side, it mostly didn't work. Because it mostly didn't work I had to take it back for a refund.
I would rate the lemon that I got at a 0.  For $ 5 it might be worth trying to see if you could get one without the short, but I opted out, not wanting to face another disappointment.
